A journey through history at La Villa del Tempo, April 18, 2026
On Saturday, April 18th, we participated in La Villa del Tempo, a multi-era event hosted at the evocative Villa dei Ronchi in Crevalcore and organized by “I Sempar in Baracca,” the “Compagnia d’arme delle 13 Porte,” and “Storici Eventi.” The event brought together re-enactors from different historical eras, offering visitors a varied and engaging journey through time. The meeting with other groups and enthusiasts represented, as always, an important opportunity for discussion and sharing, further enriching the experience. For the occasion, we set up a display dedicated to the Transportation Corps, the logistics arm of the US Army during World War II. A fundamental, often little-known role, it included port management, convoy organization, military traffic control, and the transportation of men and materials. Their distinctive symbol, the winged wheel, represented movement and efficiency. The Transportation Corps operated intensively in Western Europe after D-Day, contributing decisively to the support and advance of the Allied troops. Once again, we had the opportunity to share our passion for history with the public, contributing to the dissemination and appreciation of an essential but often little-known aspect of the conflict. In the gallery below, some shots that capture the moments and atmosphere of the day. Photography credits:
